BATANG AI National Park

Batang Ai is the only nature reserve in Sarawak, in Malaysian Borneo, where the local community is directly involved in managing the park. It covers 240 square km. and protects the watershed of Batang Ai reservoir, formed by a hydroelectric facility located 250 km east of Kuching.

The rain forest park is home to many animals including gibbon, orang-utan and hornbills, and is crossed by four marked trails. The park has no visitor centre, so  the best way to visit is to arrange a tour with the natives that make up the local Cooperative Batang Ai. Or you can book tickets in golden tours  and enjoy discounts
