ROBBEN Island and Nelson Mandela

People were imprisoned on Robben Island, from the Dutch East India Company beginning of activity until 1996. Later was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and converted into a museum, becoming one of the main attractions City Cape.

A visit to the island, it helps to understand what happened to Nelson Mandela and other prisoners, since the tour is guided by an ex-convict. It is interesting to go through the section A for "Cell Stories" excellent exposure. Each of the isolation cells keeps the effects and history of its former political prisoner.
